These Chinese criminals are illegally using the Cascade patented design and copyrighted photos and videos to sell their inferior products and are seriously hurting a small American business. Buy only genuine Cascade Feeders!

Are the Cascade Hummingbird Feeders easy to fill?

Yes! Easy and Fun. Simply open the Flip-Top and fit the pitcher spout over the opening and slowly pour. Watch the nectar cascade down through the feeder. See how easy it is.

How do I keep the nectar from overflowing when I fill the feeder?

Always use the Mix & Pour Pitcher that we include with every hummingbird feeder. The pitcher holds the exact amount of nectar for your Cascade Hummingbird Feeders. If you have pre-made nectar, simply pour it into the pitcher to the Max Fill line and you’ll have a mess free, perfect fill every time. OR SAVE $$ by making your own nectar. Simply add sugar to the Sugar Fill line on the Pitcher and hot tap water to the Max Fill line and stir. Let the nectar cool and pour it into the flip-top. Enjoy watching the nectar cascade down through the feeder.

How do you clean the helical hummingbird feeders?

These feeders are very easy to clean. If the feeder is emptied frequently, simply run hot tap water through the flip-top, flushing all nectar and thoroughly rinsing before refilling. In addition, at least once a week wash by hand with hot tap water and a weak vinegar solution or dish soap. Be sure to rinse and dry the feeder thoroughly before refilling. For times when nectar has dried, the feeder may require a good soak and possibly the use of a small brush or toothpick to clear crusts of dirt. Additionally, the feeder easily comes apart for a deep clean when needed. Detailed instructions for cleaning Cascade Hummingbird Feeders are included in the Owner’s Manual, as well as in the Resource Videos.

How often should I clean my hummingbird feeder?

The Audubon Society suggests cleaning all hummingbird feeders (not just ours) at least 2 times a week in hot weather and once a week in cooler temps. In extremely hot temperatures (95° F +), many sources suggest draining, cleaning, and refilling feeders every morning, since nectar can spoil quickly in hot, direct sun. Life of the nectar can be extended substantially by hanging your feeders in a cooler, shady location.

It sounds like a lot of work, but cleaning Cascade Hummingbird Feeders is much quicker and easier than most! If the feeder is emptied frequently, do a Quick-Clean every time before refilling by simply running water through the Flip-Top and flushing residual nectar. And then do a deeper clean every week. Always do a Deep-Clean before winter storage if you live in an area without year-round hummingbirds.

Do Hummingbirds migrate?

Yes, many hummingbirds migrate south to spend the winter in Central America or Mexico, leaving the US at various times in the autumn months. After winter, they then migrate north to their breeding grounds in the U.S., arriving in Southern and Western states as early as February, and to areas further north later in the spring, with different species arriving at different times. A variety of Hummingbird migration maps can be found online, but we found one we like here. Also, parts of the US are lucky enough to have hummingbirds year-round, and that includes areas in Florida, Texas, Arizona and all along the Pacific Coast from California to northern Washington and even British Columbia in Canada.
